The source was a silk kimono of the 1920s, bought from a Japanese textile specialist, and what Rubelli took from it was less a motif than a way of arranging soft geometry: shapes that suggest a grid without ever committing to one.
Woven as a double-sided jacquard with silk in the blend, it gives two faces, one distinctly lustrous and one held back. That is useful in a curtain, where the leading edge and the return rarely catch light the same way, and it is why all ten colours are listed reversible. The vertical repeat runs 59 cm against 34 cm across. Made for decoration and full draperies rather than seating. 138 cm wide, made in Italy. Design Formafantasma.
