A fragment of eighteenth-century hand-painted silk gave the floral, and digital printing is what made reproducing it worthwhile: the shading inside each petal and the way a leaf edge fades rather than stops both survive the transfer, where a rotary screen would have flattened them into blocks.
Pure cotton on a near-square repeat of 49 cm by 49.5 cm, 20,000 Martindale, 148 cm wide, four colours. It takes drapery and light upholstery equally, which for a print of this delicacy is worth knowing. Made in Italy.
