Ikat blurs its own edges by nature, the dye having gone onto the yarn before the weaving, and the floral here borrows that softness: a composition close to abstraction, where the strokes are allowed to bleed into one another.
It is printed on a silk-blend ground, and the ground is why it works. Eighteen per cent silk gives a particular shine that flat cotton cannot, and the cloth drapes rather than merely hangs. The repeat is generous at 90 cm vertically over 127 cm across a 130 cm width. Two colours, for decoration and curtains. Made in Italy. Design Formafantasma.
