Two marks meet on this one: a charcoal line drawn unevenly, and the raised ridge of an embroidery. The stripe they make together is intermittent rather than regular, and the ground beneath is slubby, thick and thin in the yarn and mélange in the colour, so a technical fabric ends up looking like something made by hand.
Solution-dyed acrylic at 7 out of 8 for colour fastness to light and 4 to 5 out of 5 to chlorinated and sea water, on a 38 cm vertical repeat. Cushions and outdoor seating, in sun that would take the colour out of anything piece-dyed. Five colours, 155 cm wide, made in Italy. Design Formafantasma.
