Fragoline, little strawberries, is the historic Rubelli lampas this comes from, named for exactly what it shows. The drawing is eighteenth century in origin and faintly naïf, and at a repeat under 7 cm in both directions it is small enough to read as a sprigged texture from any distance at all.
Forty-one per cent silk against viscose, a high silk content for a design this modest, and the reason for the light coming off it. Rated for light use, and the short repeat makes it forgiving to cut: cushions, a small chair, a bed hanging, the inside of a wardrobe door. Three colours, 135 cm wide, made in Italy.
