Fil posé is exactly what it sounds like: warp threads laid down one beside the next and fixed to the ground, so the surface is made of real yarn rather than a printed impression of one. Printing large stylised flowers over that gives the blurred, bleeding edges of a chiné, a pattern that appears to have been dyed into the threads before they were laid down.
