The palaces of the maharajas have rooms lined with fragments of mirror, thousands of them set into the walls so that very little light goes a very long way; European royal residences did something comparable. Mirrors arrives at the same effect without the glass, a geometric figure whose luminosity comes entirely from silk catching light at different angles across the surface.
It is a faux uni, which is to say it behaves as a plain from across a room and only resolves into geometry as you approach. Thirty per cent silk, on a 50.5 cm vertical repeat over 35 cm across.
For decoration rather than seating. Seven colours, 140 cm wide, woven in India.
