Alfredo Carnelutti designed it and Rubelli wove it for the Art Biennale of 1934; this is a new edition of that cloth. The Deco is not stylised into a motif but built out of irregular horizontal bands of viscose pile laid over a ground scattered with small golden diamonds, pile against flat, so the pattern is a matter of surface as much as of drawing.
At 755 g it is a heavy velvet, with a short 19.5 cm vertical repeat over 68.5 cm across. Rated for light use, which for a jacquard velvet of this construction is the correct instruction: cushions, panels, a chair back, a screen.
