Lifted from a Mughal miniature of the monsoon: a sky crowded with cloud and falling rain, a subject those painters returned to again and again. The bouclé texture does something useful with it. The loops break the surface, so the rain reads as broken light rather than as a drawn line.
Woven in relief at 635 g and 35,000 Martindale, on a 42 cm vertical repeat over 34.5 cm across. Suitable for upholstery. Four colours, 135 cm wide, woven in India.
