Named for Nadar, the Paris photographer who was among the first to treat the camera as an instrument of art rather than of record. The damask takes the idea literally: its forms are shaded and softened at the edges the way an early photographic plate softens, so the figure appears to be coming into focus rather than sitting flat on the ground.
A damask in construction but not in temper, with a 46 cm vertical and 70 cm horizontal repeat, half the 140 cm width. Trevira CS throughout, so the flame retardance is in the fibre rather than in a finish, 31,000 Martindale, certified Class 1 in Italy and to NFPA 260 for upholstery in the United States. Six colours.
