Named for the hat, and the imitation is close: an elaborate texture that copies the irregularity of a plaited vegetable fibre, with the same slightly open, slightly uneven look. It is entirely flame-retardant polyester, which is not obvious until you handle it.

730 g and 50,000 Martindale, on a structure strong enough for hard upholstery, certified to BS7176 for UK contract upholstery, B1 in Germany, Class 1 in Italy, CAL TB117 in the United States, and IMO 5 as a wallcovering. Twenty-two colours, running well beyond the naturals the texture suggests. 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
