Interlocking four-lobed shapes, sketched by hand and printed on plain cotton, the lines left imprecise enough that the grid never quite closes. The quatrefoil is the oldest of gothic geometries and this is a cheerful reading of it rather than a reverent one. Printing, not weaving, keeps the line as Luke Edward Hall drew it, with the pressure of the pen still visible in it.
The repeat is 19.5 by 15 cm, small enough to work on a small chair without the pattern being cut about. 150 cm wide, 280 g, 20,000 Martindale rubs, and colour fastness to light of 4 out of 8, which is worth knowing before it goes into a south-facing window. Four colourways, made in Italy.
