English rather than Venetian, for once. The botanical pattern was drawn by a British designer in the first half of the eighteenth century, and Rubelli has kept the drawing intact while rebuilding the surface as a play between shiny weaves and a metallic texture, so the plants end up sitting at slightly different depths in the cloth.
Silk, cotton, acetate, viscose and metallic yarn, 320 g at 135 cm, with a 49 cm vertical repeat against 67.5 cm across, half the width. At that scale one full stem occupies most of a drop, so it repays being seen flat rather than heavily gathered.
Rated for light use: a curtain, a cushion, a chair that is looked at more than it is sat on. Nine colours. Made in Italy.
