Strawberries and hazelnuts, among the flowers and the leaves. The source is an eighteenth-century embroidery in polychrome silk held in the Fondazione Rubelli archive, and whoever worked it was interested in what a garden actually produces, not only in what it looks like.
Rubelli has kept that specificity and translated the stitchwork into weave, using metallic yarn sparingly to pick out the points where the original embroidery would have caught light. The rest is cotton and acetate, natural fibres carrying a natural subject, at 410 g.
A 71 cm vertical repeat against 70 cm across the 140 cm width means one motif per drop, near enough. Rated for medium use, which covers a chair, a headboard or a long curtain. Seven colours. Design Formafantasma. Made in Italy.
