A two-colour damask: flowers and heavy foliage organised into ogival shapes, over a ground marked with striated effects that keep it from ever reading as a flat field. The figure separates from that ground by sheen alone, a shiny weft laid across the striations, so the pattern turns on and off as the light moves round the room.
At 272 g it is a light damask and it drapes, which suits a curtain better than a chair. Linen leads the composition at 62 per cent with viscose and silk behind it, and the character of those yarns is what gives the cloth its particular light.
Thirteen colours, a deep range for a damask, running from the greens through gold to the neutrals. A 45 cm vertical repeat against 35 cm across, 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
