A plush cotton velvet with metallic thread embroidered over it in small sprouting forms, each worked in a different shade so the sprigs never quite match one another. At a 5.4 by 4.3 cm repeat they read as a scattering rather than as a design, and the metallic catches light exactly where the pile absorbs it.
