San Marco has been in the Rubelli collection for over a hundred years, woven in pure silk, and it is the house's own icon. Reproducing it on a wall meant reproducing three separate things: the sheen of the silk, the unevenness of yarn that has taken dye at different strengths, and the fine crinkled ground the damask sits on. Any one of them is straightforward. Together they take seven printing operations, and the process exists for this design alone.
Vinyl on a paper base, 70 cm wide in 10-metre rolls with a 64 cm vertical repeat. Nine colourways, drawn from the original silk shades rather than invented for the paper.
It belongs where a damask has always belonged: a dining room, a formal drawing room, a hall with some height to it. Certified to EN 13501-1, ASTM E-84 and IMO 5. Made in Italy.
