Rubelli | Second Firing 1

Glaze is the subject. The patterns and the texture of the Second Firing capsule were both taken from Dalpayrat ceramics and enlarged until the surface of a pot becomes a field of cloth. Peter Marino assembled the group and drew its colours from Paolo Veronese, the Venetian painter he has long admired.

This one repeats horizontally at 140 cm, the full width of the cloth, so nothing recurs across a single drop and the design has to be taken in whole. Vertically it runs to 97 cm. Eco-nylon in the warp, cotton in the weft, with a small amount of metallic yarn worked in to stand in for the shine of a glazed surface. 430 g, one version, suitable for upholstery as well as decoration. Made in Italy.
