Rubelli | Second Firing 10

Ten designs came out of the same body of ceramics, and this is the last of them: a tall pattern repeating at 125 cm vertically and 70 cm across, which on a curtain means one full statement of the design in a normal drop and very little repetition after it.

Peter Marino took the patterns and the texture from the glazed surfaces of Dalpayrat ceramics, and the colour from Paolo Veronese. The cloth is mostly cotton woven on an eco-nylon warp, with a thread of metallic yarn to carry the gloss a fired glaze has. At 540 g it has enough substance for upholstery while still hanging properly as a decorating cloth. One version, 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
