Rubelli | Second Firing 5

No metallic yarn in this one. It is cotton on an eco-nylon warp and nothing else, which leaves the pattern to be carried by the weave itself, by the direction the yarns lie in and the way each face takes the light. Against the shinier members of the Second Firing group it reads as the quiet one.

The repeat is long, 127 cm vertically against 70 cm across, so the design climbs rather than tiles. Peter Marino drew the capsule from the glazed surfaces of Dalpayrat ceramics and took its colours from Paolo Veronese. 530 g at 140 cm, one version, suitable for upholstery and for decoration. Made in Italy.
