An Italian pattern of the traditional kind, put out of focus. The lines never resolve; the figure is there and then is not, the way a frame from an old film reel holds an image without quite defining it. All viscose, which is why it is so soft and falls as it does.
At 324 g a metre with a 65 cm vertical repeat it is a drapery cloth first, and a very good one, though Rubelli rates it for heavy use at 25,000 Martindale. Ten colourways, 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
