Rubelli | Spritz

The shimmer is printed, not woven. Five separate processes lay tones over one another on the pile in a carefully judged sequence, and the result has the broken, faded depth of a velvet that has sat in a room for fifty years rather than one made last season.

Cotton throughout, 570 g a metre, 40,000 Martindale, which Rubelli rates for regular use: chairs, cushions, a headboard, a sofa that is not the one everybody lands on. Twenty-six colourways, 138 cm wide, made in Italy.
