Three yarn colours mixed into a single weave is the whole device. Because each thread reads slightly differently from its neighbours the structure of the cloth becomes visible, the over and under of it rather than a flat field of colour, and the wall gains a fine grain that shifts as the daylight moves round.
Formafantasma designed it. A textile face on a nonwoven ground, sold by the metre at 138 cm wide, in five colourways. Certified to EN 13501-1, ASTM E-84 and IMO 5, and tested to EN 12149. Made in Italy. It does well in rooms that are otherwise plain: bedrooms, studies, a hall with good joinery in it.
