Tie-dye leaves a physical mark as well as a coloured one: the cloth is bound and compressed before it is dyed, and the surface keeps a memory of that. This jacquard goes after the memory rather than the colour, using particular warps and wefts to raise the pattern into relief.
The result is three-dimensional and, in drawing terms, very simple, which is a useful combination. Cotton-led at 476 g a metre, rated for heavy use, 130 cm wide. Fifteen colourways, made in Italy.
