Rubelli | Tonga Gold Wall

A sheet of pale gold, light enough to be called a leaf, laid over an opaque textile face. Nothing else happens on this wallcovering and nothing else needs to. The gold is the whole of it, and the paleness is what keeps it from tipping over into brass.

Formafantasma designed it. Cloth on a nonwoven ground, sold by the metre at 130 cm wide, in a single gold. Certified to EN 13501-1, ASTM E-84 and IMO 5, and tested to EN 12149. Made in Italy. It belongs in a small dark room rather than a bright one, a dining room, a study, the inside of a niche, where there is something for it to give back.
