A slim, irregular grid stands proud of the ground in a continuous raised texture, playing against the colour beneath it so the surface reads as iridescent from an angle. No metallic yarn is involved: the effect is in the weave and in the way viscose, cotton and silk each take dye. Rubelli acknowledges a debt to Japanese textile craft in the drawing, and the restraint of it supports that.
No repeat is quoted, which is consistent with a texture running continuously rather than a figure that has to be matched. Fifteen colourways. At 320 g on 135 cm this is a decorating cloth, intended for drapes and decoration rather than seating. Made in Italy.
