Rubelli | Venetian Sunset

A scrim rather than a voile: open, soft-handed, mottled, with metallic yarn worked through it so the cloth flickers instead of glowing evenly. The repeat is small, 5.2 cm vertically and 15 cm across, which gives it the broken irregularity of lace or crochet rather than the regularity of a woven figure.

Both colourways are metallic, unusual in a sheer, and it follows that the cloth wants light falling on it as well as through it. 295 cm wide, so no seam across a tall drop, at 160 g. Woven in Austria.
