Faux uni is the trade term for a cloth that reads as plain at three paces and turns out to be figured at one, and this is a good example of it. Traced across the surface in metallic yarn are the worn and bared areas of an original in the Rubelli archive, so what you get is the memory of an older textile rather than a copy of its pattern.
It is the earlier of the two Venier articles in the range, sharing its construction with 30678 and differing in palette: twenty colourways here. Cotton and cupro with viscose, acrylic and metallic yarns, 380 g, a 50.8 by 70 cm repeat, and it is rated for drapes and upholstery both. 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
