What had to survive the move from cloth to wall was the glint: the light metallic effect the original weave threw off, and the slight raised impression of its structure. Both are in the print; the pattern alone would have been the easy part. The original is a faux uni taken from a textile document in the Rubelli archive, a cloth that reads as plain until you are close enough to see it is not.
The nonwoven base is worth knowing about: paste goes on the wall rather than on the paper, and it comes off later without residue. The rolls are 70 cm wide and 10 metres long, with a 53 cm vertical repeat, in nine colourways. Certified to EN 13501-1, ASTM E-84 and IMO 5. Made in Italy.
