Rubelli built this on a new viscose organzine yarn, and the point of it is lustre. The hand is fine and the shine convincing enough that the cloth reads as silk at any normal distance, in something that is seventy percent cotton. A satin surface carries it, which is why the twenty colourways come up as strong as they do.
That is a wide run for a cloth of this kind and it goes the whole distance, from the ivories and greys out to peacock, coral and cardinal. The repeat is nearly square at 37.1 cm by 35 cm. At 246 g it is light for a jacquard, and it is a drapery and decoration cloth rather than an upholstery one. 140 cm wide, made in Italy.
