A satin ground with a light scratched relief worked into it on the jacquard, so the surface breaks light in short irregular lines rather than reflecting it whole. Cotton and silk are combined and the two take dye differently, which is what produces the shimmer. Rubelli calls the result a faux uni, and that is fair: figured, but not enough to read as a pattern.
Every one of the twenty-eight colourways is reversible, so both faces are usable and a curtain can be made without a lining showing. 274 g, 140 cm wide, for light use. Made in Italy.
