Schumacher | Amadeo Sheer

Amadeo Sheer is a linen and wool voile with a fine, irregular texture that comes from the natural variation in the fibres. The cloth is light enough to filter daylight but has the substance and warmth of a heavier weave, so it reads as understated rather than insubstantial. The small repeat—10 by 20 centimetres—means the texture is continuous rather than obviously patterned.

Made in the United Kingdom, it is 58 per cent linen and 42 per cent wool, 152 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits sheer curtains and unlined blinds where a softer, more tactile alternative to cotton or synthetic voiles is wanted, and the natural fibres bring a degree of insulation as well as light control.
