Antoinette sets folded paper fans into a multidirectional, all-over pattern that floats across the wall without obvious structure or repeat. Based on gouache paintings made in Backdrop's Los Angeles studio, the design captures the movement and textural nuance of the original artwork, so it reads as both figurative and abstract, playful without losing composure.
Printed in the United States, it is 69 centimetres wide with a 91-centimetre vertical repeat and a 69-centimetre horizontal repeat, sold by the metre in 9.14-metre rolls. It is spongeable and suits walls where pattern is wanted at a medium scale without rigidity. Three colourways are offered.
