Schumacher | Austin

Austin is a small-scale geometric design woven on a jacquard loom, the pattern creating a textured surface that adds depth and dimension to the cloth without asserting itself visually. The modest scale and tonal quality mean it layers easily with other patterns, and the woven texture gives the cloth a tactile presence that reads as much through touch as through sight.

Woven in India from cotton, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide with a 13-centimetre vertical repeat and an 11-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, where the sturdy construction and textural character make it appropriate for pieces in regular use as well as for curtains where the woven surface catches and diffuses light.
