Ayan is a rectilinear plaid at a medium scale, its structure built from delicate linework and ticking details that give the check a handwoven character. The design balances clarity with subtlety, the grid neither too bold nor too quiet, and the richly hued colourways lend depth to the cloth.
Woven in India from 55 per cent cotton and 45 per cent linen, it is 135 centimetres wide with a 9 centimetre repeat both vertically and horizontally. Dry cleaning is recommended. The fabric suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, its blend of fibres offering both body and a natural, textural hand.
