Bassano Embroidered Toile takes the familiar vocabulary of chinoiserie—pagodas, birds, foliage—and renders it in embroidery with a lighter, more spirited hand than traditional toile. The result is a cloth that nods to the past without being bound by it, the stitching adding texture and a slight relief to the surface.
Woven and embroidered in India, it is 130 centimetres wide and composed of 72 per cent linen and 28 per cent viscose. The vertical repeat is 39 centimetres, the horizontal 43 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. Available in several colourways, it suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery.
