Schumacher | Bauhin

Bauhin, named after a sixteenth-century Swiss botanist, assembles trompe-l'œil images of botanical plates, birds, insects, coral and trees into a large-scale repeat that reads like a collection of framed specimens arranged across the wall. Each image within the 137-by-212-centimetre repeat is unique, so the design unfolds as an evolving natural-history cabinet rather than a predictable pattern.

Printed in the United States, it is 138 centimetres wide and sold by the metre from rolls of just over nine metres. The surface is spongeable and suitable for wallcovering, available in two colourways.
