Beluze scatters roses across the cloth as though just gathered and waiting to be arranged, the flowers tossed without formal order so the design reads as loose and multidirectional. Originating from the late nineteenth century, the print has a distinctly English garden character, the roses neither too precious nor too stylised, and the pattern works equally well however the cloth is cut or turned.
Printed in Thailand on pure cotton, it is 137 centimetres wide with a 46-centimetre vertical and horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. Suitable for curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, the scattered nature of the design means it adapts easily to different scales of use without needing careful placement.
