Schumacher | Berber

Berber is a woven stripe with the texture and irregularity of cloth brought back from a North African market, the kind of thing that looks as though it has a story even when new. The stripe runs horizontally on a 22-centimetre repeat, giving it a strong, directional rhythm.

Woven in India from 80 per cent cotton and 20 per cent linen, it is 137 centimetres wide and should be dry-cleaned. It is intended for upholstery and cushions, where the stripe can be used to emphasise or counter the line of a chair or sofa.
