Birds Hand-Block Print, designed by the artist Caroline Z Hurley, arranges stylised birds across a linen ground in a pattern inspired by the sounds of spring and summer in the American South. Each motif is printed by hand using blocks, so the registration shifts slightly from one repeat to the next, lending the design an artful, handmade character that reads as playful rather than formal.
Printed in India on linen, it is 142 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 61 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 130 centimetres. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is made in several colourways.
