Blackwell Linen sets detailed botanical forms—seaweed, coral, ferns and foliage—against a ground of fainter silhouettes, creating an unusual depth and fullness in the print. Based on a late nineteenth-century original, the design has a noir quality that feels both historical and contemporary. The 42-centimetre vertical repeat allows the pattern to read clearly on most applications.
Printed on a linen-nylon blend in the United Kingdom, the cloth is 137 centimetres wide with a 46-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and is also available as a wallpaper. The design comes in three colourways.
