Schumacher | Bonsai Tree

Bonsai Tree takes its cue from traditional Japanese screens, the design hand-drawn in the studio and then translated through gravure and rotary printing to capture the delicate linework and twisting forms of the original painting. The stylised trees read as both botanical study and abstraction, their branches articulated with enough detail to hold interest without becoming busy. The medium scale suits rooms where the wall needs pattern but not insistence.

Printed in the United Kingdom on a non-woven ground, it is 69 centimetres wide with a 64-centimetre vertical repeat and a 69-centimetre horizontal repeat. Each roll runs just over five metres. The surface is washable, and the paper is sold by the roll in several colourways.
