Borneo Grasscloth, designed by Celerie Kemble after a Southeast Asian piece, is a dense patterned stripe printed by hand onto Haruki sisal. The design works at a large scale, so the striped motif reads with both texture and graphic weight, the sisal ground adding a natural, tactile dimension.
Made in the United States, it is 86 centimetres wide with a 47-centimetre vertical repeat and an 86-centimetre horizontal repeat, sold by the metre from rolls of 7.312 metres. It can be cleaned by sponging and is also available as a fabric. The design comes in several colourways.
