Bristle Stripe Sisal takes a sawtooth stripe, drawn from a Japanese textile, and prints it by hand in flat, opaque ink onto a sisal ground. The result is a medium-scale stripe with an irregular, serrated edge that reads as graphic yet organic, the handwork ensuring subtle variations from one length to the next.
Made in the United States on an 84-centimetre width, it is sold by the metre from rolls of 3.656 metres. The vertical repeat is 6 centimetres, the horizontal 43 centimetres. It is vacuumed for care and suits walls where a textured, woven ground and hand-printed pattern bring depth and character.
