Calico scatters stylised flowers across a stippled ground in the manner of a traditional calico, but the drawing is looser and the palette more varied than the historical precedent. The flowers are small enough to read as texture from a distance, yet each one is distinct when seen up close. The 11-centimetre vertical repeat and 23-centimetre horizontal repeat give the design a gentle, unforced rhythm.
Printed in Thailand on a blend of linen, cotton and nylon, it is 137 centimetres wide. Dry cleaning is recommended. The cloth suits curtains, blinds, cushions and upholstery, and it is available in several colourways.
