Schumacher | Calliope Embroidery

Calliope Embroidery is an all-over floral worked in tonal thread, the design heightened by an artisanal dyeing process that adds subtle variation across the ground. The embroidery reads as both detailed and restrained, the flowers distributed evenly so the pattern sits comfortably on upholstery or falls into soft folds as curtains.

Made in India on a cotton-linen ground—70 per cent cotton, 30 per cent linen—the cloth is 138 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 32 centimetres and a horizontal repeat of 69 centimetres. It suits curtains, blinds, upholstery and cushions, and dry cleaning is recommended.
