Cardiff Tape Medium is a classic basketweave trim woven with fine, plain-weave edges and a subtle strié that gives the surface a gentle variation in tone. The construction is traditional, made on a shuttle loom, and the blend of wool and cotton lends the tape both body and softness. It reads as quietly handsome, tonal rather than contrasting, and works alone or layered with other trims.
Woven in the United Kingdom from eighty per cent cotton and twenty per cent wool, it is three centimetres wide with a three-centimetre repeat in both directions. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits upholstery, cushions and curtains where a refined, understated edge is wanted.
