Schumacher | Carlotta Velvet Damask

Carlotta Velvet Damask is a full-width cut velvet in which a traditional damask motif has been woven so that the pattern and the ground reverse their pile, creating a play of light and shadow across the cloth. The design reads as a large-scale flourish, its scrolling forms given depth and movement by the way the velvet catches and releases light as you pass it.

Woven in Italy from cotton, it is 140 centimetres wide with a vertical repeat of 104 centimetres and a horizontal repeat that runs the full width of the cloth. Dry cleaning is recommended. The scale and weight suit upholstery—sofas, armchairs, ottomans—as well as curtains, blinds and cushions where a formal, textured surface is wanted.
