Schumacher | Carnaby

Carnaby is an embroidered patchwork worked in blocks of colour that refuse to sit quite square, each one stitched onto a chunky natural ground. The irregular geometry gives it a handmade, almost naïve quality, while the weight and texture of the embroidery add a tactile presence that reads more as craft than decoration.

Made in India, the cloth is woven from polyester, cotton, linen and viscose in equal smaller proportions, 124 centimetres wide, with repeats of 75 centimetres vertically and 61 horizontally. Dry cleaning is recommended. It suits upholstery and cushions, where the embroidered surface can be appreciated up close.
