Schumacher | Carpenter Flamestitch

Carpenter Flamestitch is a tonal bargello, the traditional zigzag stripe redrawn in a chenille weave so the peaks and valleys catch light differently as the pile shifts direction. The pattern reads as texture as much as geometry, and the cloth itself is soft and substantial underhand.

It is woven in Italy from viscose, polyester and cotton, 126 centimetres wide with a 38-centimetre vertical repeat and 32-centimetre horizontal repeat. Dry cleaning is recommended. The chenille construction and weight make it well suited to upholstery—sofas, chairs, ottomans—as well as cushions where the flamestitch can be centred or run on the bias.
